Чехов, Анна на шее) — At dinner Modest Alexeich ate very much and talked about... its being necessary to work hard; about family life not being a pleasure, but a duty; he said that if you took care of the kopecks the roubles would take care of themselves...
У нас в доме часто повторяли: "деньги счёт любят", "копейка рубль бережёт" и тому подобное, и сестра, подавленная этими пошлостями, старалась только о том, как бы сократить расходы, и оттого питались мы дурно. (А. Чехов, Моя жизнь) — Over and over again they used to say at home: 'Money needs to be counted', or: 'A kopeck leads to a rouble', and so on; my sister, overpowered by these platitudes, was always trying to find ways and means of cutting down expenses. Therefore we were badly fed.

nomad
1) A member of a people or tribe who move from place to place to find pasture and food. 2) Nomads include gypsies, desert tribes such as the Bedouin and the many primitive tribes in the Americas, Asia and Australia. Herding survives as a way of life around the Sahara, in the Middle East, in Asia as far east as western India, and in the Asian parts of the USSR. The end of pastoral nomadism would be regrettable not merely on account of the independence and distinctiveness of this way of life but because this type of economy may be a more rational means of raising large numbers of animals under arid conditions than is capital-intensive ranching.
