כְּתַתch. sam( Pi. כִּיתֵּת to strike), 1) to join closely, be grouped. Targ. Job 30:7 בתתין Ms. Var., read: כָּתְתִין (ed. מתחברין, h. text יְסֻפָּחוּ).Denom. כָּתָא, כִּתָּא. 2) to strike, v. infra. Pa. כַּתֵּת 1) to pound, crush. Ab. Zar.44a, בדין הוא דכַתּוּתֵי לאוכ׳ by law it was necessary to grind it (the bronze serpent) to powder, v. preced. 2) to ally, form into factions. Targ. Y.
