62 Argentine Wool
Is of a good to medium quality, but contains a large amount of prickly burrs, which are difficult to remove and thus reduce its value. Grown in Argentine and also known as Buenos Aires wool. The clip is very wide in range of character and adaptability of use, and colour is from white to a dark greyish-brown. The staple varies from 11/4-in. to 4-in. Types are numerous from cross-breds to merinos. -
63 Brushed Wools
This term is only applicable to pulled wools, or skin-wools, from the scrubbing or brushing process, which removes burrs, sand, dirt, and other foreign substances from the fleeces. This brushing process takes place while the wool is still a part of the pelt and are machine-brushed while on the pelt. -
64 Burring
This is a process in wool yarn manufacturing to extract burrs, seeds, vegetable matter, etc., from the raw wool. These impurities are destroyed without injury to the fibre by the chemical action of dilute sulphuric acid. They are also removed mechanically by the burring machine. The chemical method is preferred for wools containing a large quantity of small impurities, while the burring machine is usually employed for fine wools, as the natural strength and colour of the fibres is preserved. -
65 Burry Wool
Raw wool that has burrs entangled among the fibres. -
66 Carbonisation
A process used in the woollen trade for removing burrs and vegetable matter from wools, and also to destroy all vegetable matter in rags containing mixed fibre. The process can be carried out by steeping the material in a solution of sulphuric acid at about 140 deg, to 180 deg. F. and then drying. The vegetable fibre is decomposed and is readily removed by willowing; the wool fibre is practically unaffected, after treatment with soda-ash and washing removes any excess of acid. -
67 Carbonising
A process to remove burrs and vegetable matter from wools. It is a combination of heat and sulphuric acid, and follows the cleansing operations before the wool is spun into yarn. Sometimes carbonising is done in the cloth, when the cloth is soaked in weak acid and then heated in an oven (see Carbonisation) -
68 Free Wool
This term is used to indicate the absence of defects. The usual meaning is free from burrs, and the term " clear wool " may be used as well. Free wool is also wool so scoured that it is clean. -
69 Mestizo
MESTIZO, or MESTIZA WOOLThe wool commonly known as River Plate or Agentine wool. It is obtained by crossing the Spanish merino with the native South American sheep, the criolla. It is a wool of good quality, but is very difficult to clean owing to being infected with " screw burrs " which resist any carbonizing process. A special machine is necessary, in addition to carbonizing, to make the wool fit for spinning. -
70 Mestiza Wool
MESTIZO, or MESTIZA WOOLThe wool commonly known as River Plate or Agentine wool. It is obtained by crossing the Spanish merino with the native South American sheep, the criolla. It is a wool of good quality, but is very difficult to clean owing to being infected with " screw burrs " which resist any carbonizing process. A special machine is necessary, in addition to carbonizing, to make the wool fit for spinning. -
71 Moits
MOITS, or MOTESA term referring to all foreign vegetable matter in wool, such as straw, hay, leaves, twigs, thorns, burrs, seeds, etc., which are picked up by the sheep during grazing. -
72 Motes
MOITS, or MOTESA term referring to all foreign vegetable matter in wool, such as straw, hay, leaves, twigs, thorns, burrs, seeds, etc., which are picked up by the sheep during grazing. ———————— Very small pieces of seed or small immature seeds found in ginned cotton. Large quantities lower the value of the cotton. -
73 Nopster
A wool term for the operative who removes the knots, burrs, slubs, flying threads and other defects on the face of the woven fabric. -
74 River Plate Wool
Merino wools of the Argentine Republic and Uruguay of fairly fine fibre, but lacking strength and elasticity, and containing a great amount of burrs. Also called Buenos Aires or Montevideo wool. -
75 Sinkage
The losses in weight due to the removal of grease, burrs, seeds, and waste made while converting raw wool into yarn. -

The knock-outs are easily removed by hand, giving a clean cut. So forget about sharp edges and burrs that so often cause injuries.
[Schneider Electric]Отверстия легко выбиваются вручную. Края отверстий получаются ровные, гладкие без заусенцев, что исключает повреждение изоляции проводов и получение травм.
