En 1950 dirige su pri mera pelicula norteamericana, Murallas de silencio (One Way Street). Buen especialista de cine de genero, su pelicula mas importante y conocida es, probablemente, Soplo salvaje (Blowing Wild, 1953), cuya atmosfera recuerda bastante a la de un western. Western es, aunque austral, Pampa salvaje, remake de la primera pelicula de Fregonese. Por entonces, el director habia abandonado practicamente Holly wood para seguir, como tantos otros en su decadencia, la aventura europea.
