a thousand (with the counted object in the same case sg. orᅠ pl. e.g.. sahasreṇabāhunā, « with a thousand arms» Hariv. ;
sahasraṉbhishajaḥ, « a thousand drugs» RV. ;
orᅠ in the gen. e.g.. dv-sahāsresuvarṇasya, two thousand pieces of gold Rājat. ;
catvāri sahasrāṇvarshāṇam, four thousand years Mn. ;
sometimes in comp., either ibc. e.g.. yuga-sahāsram, « a thousand ages» Mn., orᅠ ifc. e.g.. sahāsrâ̱ṡvena, « with a thousand horses» ;
