25 KÖGURR
(dat. kögri, pl. kögrar), m. a quilt with fringe, counterpane.* * *m., dat. kögri, pl. kögrar:—a quilt with fringe, a counterpane; hann lét göra grind um legstaðinn ok breiða yfir kögur, Fms. viii. 237; er leg hans í miðju kirkju-gólfi, ok breiddr yfir kögurr, Hkr. iii. 376, Fms. x. 128, 150: of a church inventory, kögrar þrír, Dipl. iii. 4, Pm. 34: a bed-cover, hann bjó þegar rekkju ok yfir breiddi einn kagur, Str. 45; sonr á setklæði öll, … bekk-klæði ok kögra, N. G. L. i. 211; kögur ok handklæði, Vm. 92: of dress, vaða ok væta kögur minn, Hbl. 13: the vellum has gur, but the emendation into kögur is received by Editors; and is made certain by ‘kögur-sveinn’ in the same verse; but the sense and origin of kögurr in this place have been missed by the interpreters. It is indeed a well-known Teut. word. A. S. cocur, O. H. G. chochar. Germ. kocher, Dutch koker; the Dan. kogger is prob. borrowed from the Germ., as is the Icel. koffur from Luther’s Bible; once on a time it was also a Scandin. word, which was since displaced by the compounded örva-malr or ör-malr, q. v.; this passage being the only place where it occurs in an uncompounded form, but it remains in kögur-sveinn, a quiver-boy, who carried the hunter’s quiver (?); and in kögur-barn, Norse kogge-barn. Prof. Bergmann has, with his usual insight in Eddic matters, divined the sense when he says, p. 123, ‘über den Sund zu schwimmen und dabei seinen feurigen Donner-und blitz-keil, … im Wasser zu netzen und abzukühlen.’ The fact is, Thor is here represented carrying a quiver full of thunder-bolts on his back, and so the poet makes the mighty thunder-god stop at the Sound, embarrassed, and begging to be ferried over, as he could not wade over from fear of wetting his quiver and quenching the fire, for he must ‘keep his powder dry:’ although in Gm. and Þd. Thor is not much afraid of the water. Whether kögurr, a quilt, be any relation to kögurr, a quiver, we cannot tell, prob. not; if so, this word should be placed under a separate head; in mod. usage of fringe or fringed cloth: a nickname, Landn.; munu jarðlýsnar synir Gríms kögurs, verða mér at bana? 146: botan. the thyrsus, Hjalt. -

Усталые, по горло заваленные делами люди слушали его, удивлялись, сочувствовали, поражались и разводили руками. (Б. Полевой, Повесть о настоящем человеке) — Then commenced his wanderings from office to office. Weary officials, up to their neck in work, listened to what he had to say, expressed surprise and sympathy and helplessly shrugged their shoulders.
Бабченко хмуро молчал. Он привык делать всегда всё сам, именно поэтому, пожалуй, он всегда был занят по горло, всегда спешил и часто не поспевал (К. Симонов, Дни и ночи) — Babchenko kept a sullen silence. He was used to doing everything himself, and just because of this he was always up to his neck in detail, always hurrying, and often not accomplishing what he set out to do.

Ракша, Евразия) — He kept telling Vasya... to stop upsetting himself so much and come back soon because they would be up to their necks in work until the third quarta anyway.

27 Cap
" For William Somar, the king's fool, a cappe of green clothe fringed with red crule and lined with fryse." Henry VIII's reign. ———————— Night caps are first mentioned in the times of the Tudors. In the inventory of the wardrobe of Henry VIII, we find " a nightcappe of black velvett embroidered." They were worn in the day-time by elderly men and invalids. In 1762 the French night cap was worn by women of fashion in the daytime. It sat close to the ears and cheeks, leaving but little of the face to be seen. ———————— A head covering for both sexes (in French, bonnet). The Belgic Britons appear to have worn some head covering. Anglo-Saxons wore caps made of many materials according to the station of the wearers, those of the higher class had ornaments of metal and embroidery. About the close of the 12th century, the Danes and Normans wore a cap more like a colf which did not cover the back of the head. In 1369 caps of various colours, mostly red, were popular, and had costly linings. During the reigns of Henry V, Henry VI, and Henry VII, caps of most peculiar shapes were worn. In later years, caps of silver and gold were used. During the reign of Henry VIII what were called " Milan Bonnets," so named from the duchy in which they were first made, when also the modern name of Milliner (Milainer) applied to ladles' caps and bonnet makers in England, were greatly in fashion. They were composed of the costliest stuffs, cloth of gold and silver, velvet and satin, slashed and puffed like the dresses, jewelled and bordered with feathers, etc. The fashion in caps was constantly changing, and there are innumerable varieties, so fantastic and preposterous, in the majority of instances, in its forms, that the monstrosities of the Middle Ages, which provoked the censure and satire of the poets and others, appear graceful by comparison. -

release schedule
Release schedule is based on the premise that an OCOG will assemble an inventory of rooms for the Games, allocate rooms to client groups, and then release unneeded rooms back to the accommodation facilities without penalty. A properly managed release schedule helps an OCOG to avoid paying for unoccupied rooms.
