    2-пропенамид (CH2CHCONH), вещество, полимеризующееся в присутствии бис-Nметиленметакриламида с образованием полиакриламида (см. полиакриламид). А. образуется в некоторых пищевых продуктах при высокой температуре; существуют данные, указывающие на его канцерогенность. В промышленности производство А. осуществляется с помощью биотехнологии, использующей для этой цели микроорганизмы, превращающие акрилонитрил в А. А. служит исходным мономером для получения полимеров и сополимеров, широко используемых при очистке воды и стоков, в горном деле, при осветлении соков и вин, приготовлении красок и т.п.; в виде геля используется для электрофоретического разделении гетерогенных смесей белков и нуклеиновых кислот. Первые данные об А. опубликованы в 1945 г.

    инертный гель, образуемый в результате полимеризации мономерных молекул акриламида (см. акриламид) в присутствии N,N'-метилен-бисакриламида, формирующего поперечные сшивки; варьированием концентрации мономеров можно получить гели с порами различного размера. П.г. широко используется для разделения макромолекул с помощью электрофореза (см. электрофорез) и изоэлектрического фокусирования (см. изоэлектрическое фокусирование).
