1 Hotel Elephant
nОтель "Элефант", гостиница в Ваймаре, тесно связанная с историей города. Впервые дом "У слона" ("Zum Elephanten") упоминается в 1561 г., с 1696 г. известен как гостиный двор (Gasthof), в котором останавливались преимущественно купцы и возницы из гг. Берка (Berka), Йена, Рудольштадт по пути на ярмарки, здесь же хранился их товар. Во времена "классического Ваймара" (XVIII-XIX вв.) в гостинице по традиции останавливались многие гости города, приезжавшие сюда с надеждой познакомиться с Гёте. Среди них были поэты, композиторы, музыканты, в т.ч. Райнхольд Ленц, Максимилиан Клингер, Феликс Мендельсон-Бартольди, Людвиг Бёрне и др. Ещё большую славу принёс гостинице приезд в Ваймар в 1816 г. Шарлотты Кестнер, которая почти 50 лет назад послужила прототипом героини в романе Гёте "Страдания молодого Вертера". Она приехала под предлогом визита к своим ваймарским родственникам, в действительности же ей хотелось встретиться с Гёте, другом её молодости.
