Den Namen "Aurora" trägt der im Februar 1917 von revolutionären Matrosen eroberte Panzerkreuzer der Baltischen Flotte, der in der Nacht zum 25. Oktober 1917 den Einzug der Roten Garde in Petrograds Stadtzentrum sicherte und durch einen Schuss das Signal zum Sturm auf den Winterpalast gab, den Stützpunkt der bürgerlichen Provisorischen Regierung. Heute dient das Schiff als Museum. -
