7 ἐπᾱλής
ἐπᾱλήςGrammatical information: adj.Origin: XX [etym. unknown]Etymology: Connected with ἀλέα `heat of the sun'; or as `pressed together' (to ἁ̄λής). Chantraine rejects the latter interpretatiom, as ἁλής is said of persons or things, not of places, as ἐπ- is ununderstandable, and as also a reading ἐπ' makes no sense. Bechtel Lex. 129. Which does not mean that the other interpretation is correct.Page in Frisk: 1,531-532Greek-English etymological dictionary (Ελληνικά-Αγγλικά ετυμολογική λεξικό) > ἐπᾱλής
