עֲבַט(denom. of עֲבִיטָא, v. עֲבֹוט) to seize a pledge. Ithpe. אִיעֲבַט to have ones goods seized. B. Kam. 113b בר מתא אבר מתא מִיעֲבַט the goods of one resident may be seized for the delinquent taxes of a fellow resident (v. תָּפַס.)
