חוֹרְבָּה, חָרְבָּהf. (b. h.; חָרַב) ruin, ruins, deserted building. Ber.3a. Y.Dem.VI, 25c top אויר חוֹרְבָּתוֹ (if one sells) the space filled with debris belonging to him. Ib. תלוש מן הח׳וכ׳ break some stones from this ruin by which thou mayest take possession of the space; a. fr. Arakh.12a, v. חוּרְבָּא I.Pl. חוֹרָבוֹת, חֳרָבוֹת. Ber. l. c. חורבה אחת מחוֹרְבוֹתוכ׳ one of the ruins of Jerusalem.

חַרְבָּהf. (v. חֶרֶב) knife. Shebi. VIII, 6 קוצץ אותם בח׳ (Ar. ed. Koh. בחורבה, R. S. בחרבא) you may cut them with a knife, opp. to מוקצה the tool especially intended for cutting figs.
