    נַחֲלָהf. (b. h.; חוּל) (turn, lot, inheritance, right of succession. B. Bath.VIII, 4 אחד הבן ואחד הבת בנ׳ the same law of succession applies to sons and (eventually) to daughters (v. ib. 122b). Bekh.VIII, 1, v. בְּכוֹר. Midr. Till. to Ps. 5:1 (play on נחילות ib.) על הנ׳ שנחלתםוכ׳ for the possession which you took from me, and for the possession which I took from you; a. fr.Trnsf. the central sanctuary at Shiloh or at Jerusalem. Tosef.Zeb. XIII, 20; Zeb.119a, sq.; Meg.10a, contrad. to מְנוּחָה.Pl. נַחֲלוֹת. B. Bath. VIII, 2 סדר נ׳וכ׳ the following is the order of succession (among relatives).
