אמטיית

יְטִי, יְטָא(cmp. מְטָא, נְטָא, v. P. Sm. 159 1), to incline, turn. Pa. יַטֵּי to adduce, prefer. Y.Ber.II, 4b top לית אפשר דלא י׳ מילה it was impossible that he should not have brought on (in his lecture) a word (alluding to the exodus from Egypt); cmp. Bab. ib. 13b מהדר רבי אשמעתאוכ׳.
