אֲדִינַיָּאv. אוּדְנָא III.

אוּדְנָאIII, אֲדִינָא (f.?) (= h. אֶדֶן; cmp. b. h. הֲדֹם; √דא, דנא; cmp. דּוּךְ) foot-stool, camp-chair, folding stool. Targ. Jer. 43:10 אוּדְנֵיה Ar. (ed. אפדניה).Pl. אוּדְנַיָּא, אֲדִינַיָּא. Targ. II Est. 1:2 תרתין אוּדְנֹוי ( תרין?) the double footstool of king Solomon. Tosef.Kel.B. Mets. VIII, 6 מָטָה וישןוכ׳ (not מיטה) when it bends in (under the weight) but one can sleep on it; if it was originally so made, טמאה (not טהזרה) it is unclean מפני שהיא כאו׳ ed. Zuck. (Var. אדיניא, ed. אדוניא) because it is made like a double footstool.
