Grammatical information: v.Etymology: Formation like κηλέω, ἠθέω (s. vv.), agreeing with Alb. loth `make tired', lodhem `get tired' (IE * lēd-); the zero grade is supposed in Lat. lassus `weary, tired' (IE * lh₁d-to-s). Also Germ., e.g Goth. lētan (IE * leh₁d-) 'let', lats 'weary, slow' are connected. Further forms w. hypothetcal combinations (a. o. Lith. léidžiu `let'; s. on λαιδρός) in WP. 2, 395, Pok. 666, W.-Hofmann s. lassus; also Porzig Gliederung 104. - Becuse of ἀηδῆσαι κοπιάσαι, καμεῖν; ἀηδέομεν κοπιῶμεν; ἀηδής κοπιώδης, ὀκνηρός the correctness of ληδεῖν, ληδήσας has since long been doubted (cf.
