2 Πάτροκλος
Πάτροκλος, also gen. Πατροκλῆος, acc. - κλῆα, voc. Πατρόκλεις: Patroclus, son of Menoetius of Opus, the bosom friend of Achilles. He had fled as a youth to Peleus on account of an involuntary homicide, Il. 1.765 ff. Wearing Achilles' armor at the head of the Myrmidons, he repulsed the Trojans from the ships, but was slain by Hector, and his death was the means of bringing Achilles again into the battlefield, Π.
