       Nacido en Frankfurt, dirige comedias mudas de una bobina en el periodo mudo; en los anos 20 se asocia el nombre de Meins, entre otras, con la serie de Buster Brown. Ya en los anos 30, dirige para Hal Roach episodios de la serie Our Gang. Abandona a Hal Roach en 1937 por diferencias artisticas. Se suicido a los 47 anos de edad.

       Neoyorquino, fue ayudante de direccion de Ben-Hur (Fred Niblo, 1925), y a ese trabajo volvio tras haber intentado la direccion siete veces, dos de ellas con sendos westerns sin demasiado interes.

  • 83 Stoloff, Ben

    1895-1960
       Graduado en la Universidad de California en Los An geles, empieza a principios de los 20 dirigiendo cortos comicos para la Fox, donde, mas tarde, a co mienzos del sonoro, tambien dirigira algunos musicales. Entre medias, se ocupa del western, con Tom Mix, por ejemplo, en la epoca muda. Sus dos westerns sonoros, uno de ellos precisamente con Tom Mix, son muy tempranos y carecen del menor interes. En el periodo 1935-1939 produce y dirige programas de radio en RKO. Ya en los 40 trabaja en peliculas de serie B para Fox y Warner Bros. La ultima la rueda en 1947.
