Nota d'usoIl sostantivo “discoteca”, inteso come locale notturno, al giorno d'oggi non corrisponde al termine disco, ma a club (contrazione di nightclub): Let's go to a club!, Andiamo in discoteca! (non Let's go to a disco!). Esiste inoltre la parola clubbing, che viene spesso usata per indicare questa attività: They go clubbing every Saturday night, vanno in discoteca (o a ballare) ogni sabato sera. Il sostantivo disco oggi si riferisce perlopiù a un divertimento pomeridiano/serale organizzato esclusivamente per adolescenti. -
