Der Codex Mendoza zeigt das gleiche Muster als Belohnung nach Gefangennahme des vierten FeindeS, der seinem Lippenschmuck nach ebenfalls aus dem Gebiet jenseits der Berge stammte.(Codex Mendoza f.64. Cf. SGA II 55). Dyckerhoff 1970,85. Par ailleurs Dyckerhoff signale également l'erreur d'interprètation relevée par Seler. Dans Tezozomoc 1878,444 on trouve l'affirmation suivante: 'los 'cuauhhuehuetque'... con las mantas vetadas de negro, que les llaman 'nacazmizqui' (!), orejas de muertas' qu'il faut rapprocher de la glose du Codex Magliabecchiano (f.6) 'manta de naziz muerta' Coa en plus apparait une erreur sur la partie du corps désignée par 'nacaz-').
