Seize означает 'перехватить, схватить силой' (сломив сопротивление): to seize a running horse. Grasp – 'схватить, сжать в руках': he grasped my hand and shook it heartily; the hungry man greedily grasped the bread. Grip – 'схватить, крепко зажать, стиснуть' (обычно имеет в виду действие, вызванное гневом, страхом и т. д.): the frightened child gripped its mother's arm. Snatch означает 'хватать, вырывать, выхватывать' (часто неожиданно для окружающих): to snatch a book from under one's nose. Clutch имеет значение 'крепко, цепко схватить, ухватиться за' (часто в отчаянии): he clutched (at) the rope we threw to him.
