DORSALE (Dosser, Dossier)Early English term for pieces of tapestry or hangings put up in the arches surrounding the choir of a church in order to screen the clergy from draughts. Also pieces of tapestry hung upon parapets, panels of pulpits and stalls, and sometimes the backs of sideboards.
