    glūtus or gluttus, a, um, adj. [lit., part. of ‡ gluo, drawn together; hence opp. to crumbling, friable], tenacious, well-tempered, soft:

    Cato, R. R. 45, 1; also ap. Plin. 17, 18, 29, § 125.—Here too belongs glittis subactis, levibus, teneris, Paul. ex Fest. p. 98 Müll. N. cr.
