Предлогу до соответствуют английские to, as far as, till (until) и before. To служит главным образом для обозначения расстояния между двумя пунктами и пространственного (реже временного) предела (часто up to, down to): to cover the distance from Moscow to Baku, to read the text from page ten (up) to page fifteen. Для обозначения конечного пункта движения употребляется as far as: to go as far as the corner, to run as far as the forest. Till может взаимозаменяться с to в тех случаях, когда речь идет об отрезке времени между двумя временными пунктами: from nine till (to) five, from seven till (to) ten, причем to в данном случае менее употребительно. Предлог времени before означает 'до, перед, раньше чем': до отъезда – before one's departure. е. все время вплоть до сентября) – he will stay in Moscow till September и он не уедет из Москвы до сентября (т. е. раньше, чем наступит сентябрь) – he will not leave Moscow before September.

(penalty) shootout
If a hockey game remains tied after three periods and a five, ten or twenty minute overtime in a game requiring resolution at the Olympic Games, the game will proceed to a shootout. Each coach selects five players from the team to take penalty shots one at a time against the opposing goalkeeper. Each team takes five penalty shots on the opposition goalkeeper. The team with the most goals wins. If it remains tied, the shootout heads into sudden death, with each team trading penalty shot chances until one scores when the other does not.
