It is strictly regulated and usually lasts three years, although those who have their Abitur are often allowed to reduce this by one year. The trainees, so-called Auszubildende or Azubis for short, work in a company and become familiar with all the different areas of their future profession. 5 Realschule
f secondary school leading to intermediate qualification; GB: etwa middle school, USA: etwa middle ( oder junior high) school* * *A Realschule is a type of German secondary school. It normally covers a period of four or six school years and is designed to provide a general education that goes beyond that of a Hauptschule. After completing Realschule students may try for a Fachabitur at a Fachoberschule or serve an apprenticeship.
