21 Jacquard Tie
A jacquard machine may be mounted above the loom so that the cards fall over the back or front of the loom, a method known as the Norwich tie. Alternatively, it may be mounted so that the cards are either at the right- or left-hand side of the loom. This is known as the London tie. -

A designing term indicating that the jacquard harness is so arranged that one portion weaves the borders and the other the centre. -

Tying hard-and-fast, that is, attaching one end of the rope to the saddlehorn rather than dallying. Many who preferred this method were Texans. -
