    כָּשֵׁרII m. (b. h.; preced.) 1) fit, esp. kasher, ritually permitted, legal, opp. פסול, טרפה. Fem. כְּשֵׁרָה, כְּשֵׁירָה. Ḥull. I, 4 כ׳ בשחיטה פסול במליקה what is legal in slaughtering (cutting the throat) is illegal in pinching (the neck). Ib. שְׁחִיטָתוֹ כ׳ his act of slaughtering has been properly executed.
