21 עִרְעֵר
עִרְעֵרIII (v. עֲרַע I) ( to bring into contact, 1) to keep a liquid in the throat for the sake of lubrication. Tosef.Sabb. XII (XIII), 10 if one has a sore throat, לא יְעַרְעֲרֶנּוּ בשמןוכ׳ he must not lubricate it with oil (on the Sabbath); Ber.36a לא יְעָרְעֶנּוּ (Pi. of עָרַע; Ar. יערער׳); Tosef.Ter.IX, 12 יערענו (ed. Zuck. ירדנו?); Y.Shebi.VIII, 38a top יערער׳. 2) to cause to meet. Koh.
