Lev. 479 את אַפְסְקֵיה eth separates it; ib. לאַפְסוּקֵי בין ממוןוכ׳ (not לאפסוקיה) to draw the line between sacred property and Sot.38b אריכי … לא מַפְסְקֵי tall persons in front of short ones do not form a partition (to intercept the priestly benediction pronounced upon the congregation); תיבה לא מַפְסְקָא nor does the Tebah (v. תֵּבָה) between the priests and the people form a partition. תְּבִיקִין f. (θηβαική, accus., sub πῆχυς) Thebaic cubit (supposed to be the royal cubit of the Egyptians). Gen. R. s. 31 (ref. to מדה הראשונה, 2 Chr. 3:3) למה הוא קורא אותה אמה ת׳וכ׳ (Ar. תבקיון) why is this cubit called tbiḳin? Because they fitted with it (v. תָּבָא); (oth. opin.) על שם תיבתווכ׳ after Noahs ark ( tebah); Yalk. ib. 53.
