В кибернетике и общей теории систем — накопление системой опыта в результате многократных воздействий на нее и корректировки ее реакций на эти воздействия. Источниками обучающих и корректирующих воздействий могут быть управляющая система (или наблюдатель), внешняя среда в целом (в этом случае происходит адаптация системы к ней), но могут быть и элементы самой системы — тогда она называется самообучающейся. Существуют обучающиеся автоматические системы в технической кибернетике: например, разного рода приборы управления на летательных аппаратах, в технологических агрегатах, обеспечивающие оптимальное протекание процессов. Разработаны также системы распознавания образов, построенные на принципе О. Процессом обучения можно назвать поведение участников рынка, например, в паутинообразной модели, в аукционе и т.д., когда они меняют свои решения сообразно ситуации, приближаясь к точке равновесия или иной цели.
