The meaning `linger, hesitate' in στραγ-γεύομαι can be explained both from `draw together, congeal' as from `run by drops (= slowly)'. -- Further forms and combinations a. lit. in WP. 2, 650f., Pok. 1036f., W.-Hofmann s. stringō.
