(stipulus), 1) договариваться о чем-нибудь в торжественной, устной форме, состоящей из вопроса и ответа, требовать торжественного обещния исполнить какое-нибудь обязательство;stipulatio s. stipulatus есть формальный словесный акт, состоящий из торжественного вопроса верителя и соответствующего ответа должника, с целью установления обязательственного отношения (tit. I. 3, 15-19. D. 45, 1-3. 1. 5 § I D. 45, 1. 1. 1 pr. cod.);
