Аккредитив (кредитное письмо) (letter of credit), который гарантирует заем или кредит, предоставленный в какой-либо иной форме. Банк, выдавший аккредитив, связывает себя обязательством возместить заимствованную сумму в том случае, если заемщик сам не сможет погасить задолженность. При непогашении ссуды заемщиком кредитор должен направить гаранту свидетельство неплатежа заемщика. В программах выпуска евронот (note issuance facility) резервный кредит представляет собой гарантию третьей стороны оплатить выпуск за инвестора с низким кредитным рейтингом.
