u, f. [skott], the popular Icel. name for a female ghost, since, as she roams about, her head-gear streams behind her like a fox’s tail, Maurer’s Volks.; Hvítárvalla-s., Leirár-s.: Skotti, a, m. a nickname, prop. a ghost (?), also used of a horse whose body and tail are of different colours.
