Комплемент - это член предложения, дополняющий значение сказуемого (Predicate) и относящийся либо к подлежащему, либо к дополнению. Комплемент, относящийся к подлежащему, соответствует в русском языке именной части сказуемого.1)а) Комплемент, относящийся к подлежащему, принимает только глагол be и, кроме того, несколько глаголов восприятия: look, seem, taste, sound, feel..., и несколько глаголов, описывающих изменение состояния: become, remain...I am a passenger. — Я - путник.
My decision remains the same. — Мое решение остается прежним.
б) Конструкция Дополнение + Комплемент называется "сложным дополнением" (см. Complex object).We appointed him secretary. ( = We appointed him to be secretary). — Мы назначили его секретарем.
2) В качестве комплемента может выступать:а) существительное или именная группа:You must be Mr. Jones. — Вы, должно быть, мистер Джоунз.
His son became a famous actor. — Его сын стал известным актером.
б) местоимение:It's me. — Это я.
в) прилагательное или причастие:This guy is very intelligent. — Этот парень очень умен.
This sounds good. — Звучит неплохо.
He walked his feet sore. — Он исходил все ноги.
г) некоторые наречия:The light is on. — Свет включен.
The meeting is here. — Встреча (будет) здесь.
д) предложная группа:You're like your father. — Ты - как твой отец.
3) Позиция в предложении (подробнее о порядке слов см. Sentence: word order).а) Если сказуемое не имеет дополнения, то в повествовательном предложении комплемент следует непосредственно за глаголом.The village is destroyed. — Деревня разрушена.
Her hair is green. — У нее зеленые волосы.
б) Если сказуемое имеет дополнение, то комплемент ставится после этого дополнения.The soldiers found the village destroyed. — Солдаты нашли деревню разрушенной.
She dyed her hair green. — Она покрасила волосы в зеленый цвет.
