7 Bourrichat Shawl
Silk shawls, about 331/2-in. square, specially made for Morocco. They have fringes from 8-in. to 16-in. in length, with 4, 6, or 8 crossbars in colours that harmonise with the colours of the shawl. They are adorned with floral bouquets in gorgeous colours. The shawl is put to many uses both by men and women; headwear and flags being the principal. -

A very soft woollen shawl with bright-coloured stripes. Native made. -

A woollen shawl, twill weave, made in Massachusetts in the 19th century, in tartan designs. -

Solid coloured wool shawl, made in India, of Pashmina in very fine twill on hand looms. -

The Cashmere shawl made with two borders of Pashmina wool, with or without a flower at the corners. Also known as Khalil Khani. -
13 Hashiadar Kiungridar Shawl

The Cashmere shawl having large groups of flowers with ends or points curved downwards. The forms are of the pine cone. -
15 Kaffir Alro Shawl
A coarse cotton twill fabric made for Africa, where it is worn as a shawl. It is made 60-in. wide in 72-in. lengths with fringes at both ends. About 10 ends and 8 picks per inch, 6's warp, 2's, 3's or 4's weft. All the yarn is coloured. Sometimes the weft is cotton-and-shoddy mixture. -

17 Lucas Shawl
A fancy silk shawl or muffler made about 39-in. square, checked, or brocade and simple designs in vivid colours. Worn on the head of Jewish Women in many Near East countries. -

19 Norwich Shawl
A good quality fine silk shawl made in checks and stripes and embroidered afterwards. Later it was made of printed silk yarns. -
20 Pegu Shawl
A hand-woven silk shawl, made in Burma. The warp is red silk and wefts of white, green, blue, red and black silk are used to produce figure. The designs are produced as in tapestry weaving, and conventional figuring includes fishes, turtles, lotus flower, birds, leaves, etc. Beautifully coloured birds are introduced, and gold and silver thread work adds to the ornament.
