Nota d'usoIl sostantivo shade significa “ombra” soprattutto nel senso della protezione dalla luce diretta del sole: The flowers need a little shade, i fiori hanno bisogno di un po' di ombra; to sit in the shade, stare seduti all'ombra. Anche il sostantivo shadow significa “ombra”, però prevalentemente nel senso della sagoma scura proiettata da un corpo esposto a una fonte di luce: the deepening shadows of the approaching night, le ombre della sera ormai vicina che si infittiscono.
