( кому)уст.1) (нет смысла, неудобно (делать что-либо, поступать как-либо)) there is no point (sense) in doing smth.- Прощай, брат! We've done you no wrong, and you've done us none. It's true things turned out bad, but what do you expect? And there's no point' in your staying on here.'
2) (не подобает, не годится (делать что-либо)) it doesn't become smb. to act like that; it's unbecoming to smb.; it doesn't suit smb.
Why won't you go? There at the Razlyulyaevs it's very nice - the people are rich and kind. Mitya. No, Yasha, that doesn't suit me! I'll bear anything from Gordey Karpych, I'll stand poverty, but I won't go away. That's my destiny! -

phase displacement
phase difference (for a transformer)
the angular difference between the phasors representing the voltages between the neutral point (real or imaginary) and the corresponding terminals of two windings, a positive-sequence voltage system being applied to the high-voltage terminals, following each other in alphabetical sequence if they are lettered, or in numerical sequence if they are numbered. The phasors are assumed to rotate in a counter-clockwise sense
[IEV number 421-10-08]FR
