    (lettre). Le y dans les finales des verbes est souvent à peine prononcé et joue un peu le même rôle que le h (hiatus). Ainsi à Thônes, COD. écrit indifféremment zhoyî ou zhohî < jouer>. De même on écrit souvent la yôta < la haute>, alors qu'on prononce la hyôta (sans élision, le h empêche l'élision de l'article). Dans l'Albanais (systématiquement), et parfois ailleurs aussi (mais pas systématiquement), on mouille les l liquides (ceux qui viennent après les consonnes b, f, g, k, p).
