1 Ribs
A term given to cord effects produced by running two or more threads of warp together, or by using a thicker yarn. The thicker yarn gives bolder cords, but requires to be on a separate warp beam. Fair examples are: 331/2-in., 100 yards, 76 ends and 86 picks per inch, 26's warp, 36's weft, with 8 cords per inch of 2/12's; 331/2-in., 100 yards, 76 ends and 82 picks per inch, 26's warp, 36's weft, cords made by running 3 ends of 26's together.
