Vortrag, I) das Vortragen: relatio (im allg, bes. aber der förmliche Vortrag an den Senat). – relatus (das Vortragen, z.B. von Gesängen, carminum). – dictio (das Sagen, Reden, Vortragen, z.B. causae suae). – enarratio (erklärende Erzählung, Darstellung, z.B. historiarum). – etwas beim Senat in Vortrag bringen, de alqa re referre ad senatum (um den Senat darüber zu Rate zu ziehen); alqd deferre ad senatum (um ihn darüber entscheiden zu lassen): die Sache kommt in V., res refertur. – II) die Art, wie man vorträgt: genus dicendi. dictio (mündliche Darstellungsweise in bezug auf den Stil). – actio (der rednerische Vortrag in bezug auf Deklamation u. Gestikulation; dah. auch der theatralische Vortrag). – pronuntiatio (der mündliche Vortrag, bes. in bezug auf Aussprache und Deklamation). – elocutio (der rednerische Ausdruck, der kunstreiche mündliche Vortrag im Reden in bezug auf Aussprache etc., die Diktion, der Stil). – einen guten V. haben, bene od. commode dicere: einen fließenden V. haben, facilem esse in dicendo. – III) das, was man vorträgt: oratio. – Ist es = Vorlesung, s. d. – ein zusammenhängender V., oratio perpetua, continens. – einen V. halten, verba facere: orationem habere; declamare (zur Übung in den Rednerschulen): über etwas einen V. halten, dicere de alqa re; orationem habere de alqa re.
