1 Florodor Cloth
A light-weight union fabric for tropical suitings. Made of wool and cotton in plain weave. Mostly in,plain dyed, but stripes are also made from dyed yarns. -
2 Crepe Romaine
A very fine all-silk crepe cloth made with hard-twisted yarns about 13/15 denier. A 50-in. cloth gives 39/40-in. when finished. The weave is 2 X 2 matt. Both warp and weft are woven two right and two reverse twist. There are from 100 to 120 ends and 90 to 110 picks per inch. The fabric is generally piece-dyed and finished with 20 to 25 per cent weighting. A cheaper cloth is made with cotton warp and rayon weft and either plain, dyed or printed. It is used for cheap linings. -

5 Chiffon Batiste
An all-wool plain weave dress material in plain dyed colour, light shades. It is the lightest weight batiste made, and used for evening dresses. Made in 36-in. to 44-m., 48 X 44 per inch, and about 90's to 100's worsted yarns. -

9 Bolton Sheetings
A term used in the home trade for a 50-in. 2 X 2 twill cotton fabric, woven about 44 X 40 per inch, from 20's/6's yarns. The fabric is plain dyed. Used for curtains, linings, etc. The cloth is an ordinary twill fabric with a condenser waste weft. -
10 Casement Repp
A special heavy repp fabric also used for curtains, hangings, etc. Usually with three to four times more ends than picks, and both plain dyed, stripes and jacquard effects. Both sides of the cloth are alike. Two warps are used and a standard cloth is made 132 X 48, 2/60's and 2/20's warps, 16's or 2/40's weft. The 2/60's warp is mercerised yarn and denting is two ends 2/60's and one end 2/120's. The coarse warp is loosely weighted and the finer tightly weighted, the fabrics are rather expensive, but always hang well and wear well. -

A general term for woollen fabrics made in France, very soft, slightly raised, in stripes, checks or plain dyed and used for shirts and winter underclothing. -

The fabric is exported to Turkey, Egypt and Arabia for use as scarfs and turbans. -

Cotton cloth made in the Punjab and Sindh, Madras and elsewhere in India, and used chiefly for native wear as trousers. They were in stripes and plain dyed of the most vivid hues. -

Indian term for cotton fabrics used for skirts and produced in the United Provinces. Many qualities are made, mostly in stripes or checks, sometimes plain dyed, but very seldom all white. -
17 Mysore Silk
Soft, fine, undressed East Indian silk dress goods, made plain, dyed or printed, mostly in floral patterns. All are 34-in. wide and cultivated silk is used for the yarns. -

A French serge in 8-shaft weave from woollen yarns and plain dyed. -
19 Reel Daryal
A well-woven all-cotton cloth for use as trousering for women in India. Usually 2/60's or 2/64's mercerised yarns are used plain dyed light colours or stripes. One cloth is made 52 ends and 52 picks per inch, 2/60's warp, 2/64's weft. -
20 Satin Vigoureux
A heavy dress material woven in satin stripes, one stripe plain dyed yarn alternating with equal width stripe of vigoureux yarn. The effect is very striking. All worsted yarns.
