σκορδινάομαι, ion. σκορδινέομαι, auch κορδινέομαι, sich ausstrecken, recken u. gähnen, Poll. 5, 168, eigtl. von Menschen u. Hunden, die eben ausgeschlafen haben und noch nicht ganz erwacht sind, schlaftrunken sein, pandiculari; κέχηνα, σκορδινῶμαι, πέρδομαι, Ar. Ach. 30, Schol. κλῶμαι καὶ σπασμῷ συνέχομαι, ἐπὶ τῶν κυνῶν τῶν ἐξ ὕπνου ἀνισταμένων, ὅταν τὰ μέλη καὶ ὅλους αὑτοὺς διατείνωσιν; hinzugesetzt wird γίνεται οὖν ἀπὸ ἀλογίας τὸ τοιοῠτον, auch ein Zusammenhang mit σκόροδον gesucht, οἱ γὰρ ἀπὸ πληϑωρίας σκορόδων ἐμοῠντες διὰ τὴν δριμύτητα μᾶλλον σπῶνται; vgl. Vesp. 642 οὗτος ἤδη σκορδινᾶται κἄστιν οὐκ ἐν αὑτοῠ u. Ran. 920 τί σκορδινᾷ καὶ δυςφορεῖς; also überh. von unruhigen, gewaltsamen Bewegungen des Leibes, wenn Einer sich vor Ungeduld, Unmuth, Aerger nicht lassen kann, sich ungeduldig hin- u. herwerfen. – Bei Erotian. auch = καρηβαρέω, schwer od. dumpf im Kopfe sein, wie ein eben Erwachender, auch in Folge davon sich erbrechen. – (Die Ableitung von σκόροδον u. δινέω ist falsch; vielleicht mit κάρα zusammenhangend.)
