тонкий (1—10 мкм) слой аморфного бесклеточного слизистого материала, покрывающий поверхность корней растений (корневого чехлика, ризодермы, корневых волосков). М. представляет собой сложный многокомпонентный субстрат, в состав которого входят продукты растительного и бактериального происхождения, клетки бактерий, высокодисперсные минеральные и органические соединения почвы. Значительная часть М. представлена высокомолекулярной слизью растительного происхождения, компоненты которой образуются клетками корневого чехлика и секретируются аппаратом Гольджи эпидермальных клеток; другая его часть представлена продуктами бактериальной деградации полисахаридов клеточных стенок отмерших клеток растений. В смеси полисахаридов М. идентифицированы пектиновые вещества, гемицеллюлозы, глюканы, ксилоглюканы и гетероксиланы.Толковый биотехнологический словарь. Русско-английский. > муцигель
