IMFМеждународный валютный фонд (МВФ). Международная финансовая организация, созданная в 1944 на основе соглашений, подписанных в Бреттон-Вудсе (США) (Bretton-Woods Agreement) в целях поддержания мировой валютно-финансовой стабильности и содействия развитию международной торговли.Начал функционировать с 1 марта 1947, в ноябре того же года получил статус специализированного учреждения ООН. Основные направления деятельности МВФ предполагают поддержание на устойчивом уровне обменных курсов валют и оказание помощи странам-членам, испытывающим дефицит платежного баланса (balance of payments). Признавая, что система международных расчетов нуждается в дальнейшем совершенствовании и развитии, МВФ ввел в практику в качестве безусловных резервных активов так называемые специальные права заимствования, или SDR (special drawing rights) (см. allocation of special drawing rights). Руководство МВФ осуществляет Совет управляющих, в который входит по одному представителю от каждой страны. Голоса распределяются пропорционально взносам стран-членов, размеры которых обусловлены уровнями экономического развития. Такой порядок позволяет наиболее развитым странам осуществлять контроль за деятельностью фонда. Исполнительным органом МВФ является Директорат в составе двадцати исполнительных директоров.
