Материал или вещество объекта аналитического контроля, достаточно однородное в отношении одной или нескольких надежно установленных характеристик, чтобы быть использованными при калибровке прибора, оценке метода измерений или для приписывания значений этих характеристик материалам или веществам.
Примечания
1. Для образцов сравнения, представляющих семейство материалов с близкими характеристиками, не обязательно наличие иерархии в соответствии со значениями неопределенности, как это принято для мер физических величин.
2. Понятие «образец сравнения» охватывает как аттестованные, так и неаттестованные образцы веществ и материалов. К первым относятся стандартные образцы, ко вторым – химические продукты и материалы с установленной степенью чистоты, например реактивы.
