נָגַד(b. h.) to draw a line; denom. נֶגֶד. Hif. הִגִּיד (denom. of נֶגֶד) to show; to announce, tell; to testify. Tanḥ. Tsav 13 ומשם … והִגִּידָה לאהרן from there Miriam learned it and told Aaron. Ib. מַגִּיד שהכל מודיםוכ׳ this shows (intimates) that all agreed as to her beauty. Snh.IV, 5 להַגִּיד גדולתווכ׳ to show the greatness Ib. 44b, a. e.
