Régi par la Convention universelle sur le droit d’auteur (signée en septembre 1952 et révisée en juillet 1971), le droit d’auteur désigne l’ensemble des droits dont jouissent les créateurs sur leurs oeuvres. Ce sont par exemple les droits que possèdent les écrivains et les journalistes sur leurs écrits, les artistes interprètes ou exécutants sur leurs prestations, les producteurs d’enregistrements sonores sur leurs enregistrements, et les organismes de radiotélédiffusion sur leurs programmes radiodiffusés et télévisés. Les oeuvres protégées par le droit d’auteur comprennent: (a) les oeuvres “littéraires” (romans, poèmes, pièces de théâtre, ouvrages de référence, journaux, logiciels); (b) les bases de données; (c) les films, compositions musicales et oeuvres chorégraphiques; (d) les oeuvres artistiques (peintures, dessins, photographies, sculptures); (e) les créations architecturales; (f) les créations publicitaires, cartes géographiques et dessins techniques. Le droit d’auteur est l’un des deux aspects de la propriété intellectuelle, l’autre étant la propriété industrielle. La propriété intellectuelle est gérée à l’échelon mondial par l’OMPI (Organisation mondiale de la propriété intellectuelle). -

( NEF)Le Net des études françaises (NEF) se veut d’une part "un filet trouvé qui ne capte que des morceaux choisis du monde des études françaises, tout en tissant des liens entre eux", d’autre part un réseau dont "les auteurs sont des personnes oeuvrant dans le champ des études françaises et partageant librement leur savoir et leurs produits avec autrui".
