1. Один из участников кредитных отношений, выступает как субъект, предоставляющий ссуду.
2. В гражданском праве это сторона в обязательстве, которая имеет право требовать от другой стороны - должника исполнения обязанности совершить определенные действия (передать имущество, выполнить работу, уплатить деньги и т.п.) либо воздержаться от определенных действий. В обязательстве может быть несколько К. В этом случае, поскольку иное не вытекает из закона или договора, каждый из них имеет право требовать исполнения обязательств в равной доле с другим.
3. Предприятия, перед которыми имеется задолженность конкретного предприятия. Расчеты с кредиторами учитываются на счете "Расчеты с разными дебиторами и кредиторами".

1. Лицо, перед которым данная организация имеет задолженность, отраженную в ее балансе. 2. Сторона кредитного договора. Кредиторы разделяются на залоговые (см. Залог, Залоговые аукционы), денежные (в отличие от предоставляющих в кредит товары), а также конкурсные, участвующие в конкурсе на право выдать кредит (обычно по критерию наинизшей кредитной ставки) и др.. Особое место экономике страны занимает т.н. Кредитор последней инстанции (см.), т.е. Центральный банк.
