prime event limitation (PEL)
During some Games sporting sessions the seating allocated in the official stand and stand of honor for accredited members of the Olympic/Paralympic Family with rights to designated seating may be insufficient for the demand. Certain accreditation populations have a PEL attached to them, which requires the bearer of that accreditation to buy a ticket. Entry to the official stand and stand of honor is therefore controlled at designated PEL events by accreditation and tickets jointly and not separately. Tickets to PEL events are limited.
